In Conversation With….

Off of the back of the recent short interviews I did during my Local Music Shows on Carnival FM, as part of the live sessions, I have now started to film some longer interviews.

They are called ‘In Conversation With’, the idea being that they will, hopefully, be more of a conversation than the usual structured interview. They are also not bound by time, so typically last around 30 minutes each.

I am doing them in conjunction with ‘befilmed’, who you can find here:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdgpH6h8GNdE8BrJMNAuxxg

Incidentally, it was ‘befilmed’ who filmed and recorded the videos from those live sessions on Carnival FM recently. Those videos can also be found on their YouTube channel.

So far we have recorded 3 ‘conversations’, with several more planned. The aim is to feature local musicians, bands and others who have a connection with music in some way.

Some of the artists are also recording some acoustic songs for us at the same time, which will also be shared via the YouTube channel.

Why not subscribe to the channel to avoid missing any future ‘conversations’?

Here are the 3 ‘conversations’ recorded and uploaded so far.

Thanks for watching.

Carnival FM Live Session Videos

As previously mentioned here, during my recent Local Music Shows for Carnival FM we took the opportunity to get some fine local musicians into the studio to be interviewed by myself and also to perform a few of their own songs and have some fun in the process.

We also took advantage of this to both video and record those interviews and live sessions. Well the results are now starting to appear on the Carnival FM YouTube channel, which you can find here: http://www.youtube.com/user/CarnivalFM/videos

Up to this morning 18 videos have been uploaded, with at least one from every performer/band included in that number. Those performers/bands are Blair, Poppy Prescott, Hana Christine, Mick Bolton, Logan Wilson, Dorey The Wise, The Kid Kapichi, King Size Slim, Steve Riv and Claire Hamill.

Why not go and check them out, there are some great and pretty unique performances amongst them. Here are a couple of those videos to whet your appetite:

Don’t forget that videos from last years live sessions on Carnival FM are also available to be watched on their YouTube channel. And there are still more to come from all performers from this years shows too, so keep checking.

Carnival FM Shows on Mixcloud

As I’ve mentioned before, I recently produced and presented a series of Local Music Shows on Carnival FM in Hastings.

Well, the first two of those shows are now available to listen to again, or for the first time, on Mixcloud.

The first show, which went out on Friday 2nd August featured a pre-recorded interview and live session with Claire Hamill, as mentioned in another recent post on the Pierless Music site.

The second show was originally broadcast on Monday 5th August and featured interviews and live sessions with both Blair and Poppy Prescott.

Links to both shows are below. The remaining Local Music Shows are planned to be uploaded in due course.

Don’t forget to check out the Carnival FM YouTube channel for videos of the interviews and live sessions that I did during the programmes. Once again, these are being uploaded gradually: http://www.youtube.com/user/CarnivalFM/videos

Dorey The Wise – Backbone (Video)

We recently posted an interview that Pierless Music did with local lads Dorey The Wise. Hear it here: http://pierlessmusic.co.uk/the-pierless-music-interview-dorey-the-wise/

At the end of the interview we featured a track from the band’s brand new EP called ‘Backbone’. Well, Dorey The Wise have now released a video to go with that track. So, we thought we’d share it with you here:

Good isn’t it?

And now you know what they look like, as well as what they sound like.

The Pierless Music Interview – Dorey The Wise

Here’s the next installment of the Pierless Music Interviews, this time it’s with Hastings based band Dorey The Wise.

Dorey The Wise are releasing their first EP in March and have a special launch party gig at the Brass Monkey, in Hastings on Friday 1st March. Check out the Event page on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/events/437950912942785/

The Pierless Music Interviews – Alba

Here is the second in our series of interviews with local musicians.

Alba is a young female singer/songwriter from St Leonards who came to Andy’s attention around a year ago.

The Pierless Music Interviews – Adonis Fuzz

Yesterday, i recorded the first in what i hope will be a long series of interviews with local bands and musicians.

The guinea pigs were Adonis Fuzz and you can listen to that interview below, via the Pierless Music Mixcloud page.

The interview does contain some swearing and adult content, but this is rock n roll after all. I apologise for the slight lack of volume on the band, but that’s what happens when you try to record three band members in a small room.

You can find Adonis Fuzz at: https://www.facebook.com/AdonisFuzz and you can buy their music on iTunes here: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/best-wishes/id592865258

The Pierless Music Interviews

We are planning on doing a series of interviews with local musicians in the very near future.

The idea is to record the interviews as a podcast and to then post them onto this site and also onto the Pierless Music Mixcloud page as well. Bands and musicians will then be able to share them, or use them for their own publicity purposes. For example, within an Electronic Press Kit (EPK).

Initially, we will try to concentrate on bands/musicians that have new material being released, or who have recently released an album, or EP.

The ‘plan’ is to end each Pierless Music Interview with a track from that release. So, we will need to have a copy of the album, or EP beforehand.

I’m hoping to record the first of these interviews tomorrow and already have another lined up for next week. If you’d like to be included on one of these upcoming podcasts and you fit the criteria above, please get in touch with us here at Pierless Music.

Btw, we are still in the process of trying to arrange a weekly local music show on BURST radio, as previously mentioned.

Harvey Summers – Video Interview

We’ve mentioned previously that local producer and musician Harvey Summers had a new album due for release shortly. Well, his album ‘Jupiter’ will be available in early 2013.

In the meantime, Harvey has done a video interview, talking about the upcoming ‘Jupiter’ album and some of the tracks on it.

You can see that video here:

Pierless Music have been lucky enough to hear the album already and can confirm that it sounds just as good as you’d expect it to.

The single from the album, ‘Bon Hiver’, can be heard on our Soundcloud Sampler Playlist :

Love Fingers Interview

Stuart Huggett has recently inteviewed those quirky females from St Leonards, ‘Love Fingers’.

Here’s how he describes them: “Love Fingers are probably the oddest group to come out of St Leonards this year. Formed by four young local artists, going by the names of Vixon, Rogue, Bad M and Phat Al, Love Fingers combine loosely recorded songs with simply shot, imaginative videos, sharing them on YouTube. They’ve yet to play live, but have amassed a passionate online following.”

It that has whetted your appetite, read on here:

We’ve even embedded some of their videos into the interview as well. So, you can see for yourself what all the fuss is about.
